The Best Local Dessert Places

By Stella

Do you ever want to have a sweet treat but don’t know where to look? Well, you’re in luck! From creamy fun ice cream flavors to delicious donuts, to the best boba in town, you’ll never need to worry about where you’re going for dessert!

Now first off, and my favorite, Dochi! A combination of the classic American donut and a Japanese mochi (plus it’s gluten-free!). It’s chewy and delicious with a wide variety of flavors. With two locations (Corrine Drive and East Colonial Drive), both near Lake Highland, it makes a perfect afterschool snack.

Secondly, Sampaguita Ice Cream. This may sound like another ordinary ice cream place, but no. Its menu is full of delicious Philipino flavors including their special, Sampaguita! An Almond vanilla bean ice cream perfumed with a hint of jasmine and lychee jellies. Nestled in Colonial Drive, this place has an absolutely adorable interior and fabulous unique flavors. Why not give it a taste?

Last but not least, Chiffon Culture Bakery Cafe, is a cozy dessert place. With amazing service, they serve a number of things, delicious cakes, croissants, fabulous Boston cream pies (my favorite), and a large selection of boba flavors. Not only do they sell sweats, but they also have a great savory assortment. Cozied in Corrine Drive, next to other local businesses, this place definitely deserves to be checked out.

Next time you’re in the neighborhood, maybe look one up. Not only will it be delicious but it will also support a local business. Hope these recommendations will help some fellow sweet tooths out there.
