The Rolex 24 in 2026 Experience

The Daytona Rolex 24 Hour race has concluded with Porsche Penske Winning, but that is not what I am reporting. I am writing because of my Infield experience during the race which was great. It led me to see the hour 6 crash which involved an LMP2 (Le Mans Prototype 2) car and a GTD Pro (Gran Tour Dayton PRO) car. I am used to being up in the grandstands on the start finish line so, it was weird to see the cars in front and behind you. Being up on the camper was fun. Overall, I would highly recommend trying to be up in a camper and see and hear the views.
The grandstands are also not bad too. They provide amazing views and sounds of the Track (image above). The Grandstands treasure amazing views of the track at night, especially when the brakes glow. You can also get great views of the flyovers before the race; this year it was F-35’s. One fun fact about the grandstands is that they are so big that the designers had to account for nine inches of height due to the curvature of the Earth. Personally, I am more used to being able to see all the action from the grandstands. This makes me like them better than the infield. In summary, I like the grandstands more, but both views offer great sights and sounds.
